"The eagle and the condor shall meet…"
The unity of our people must come forth through ancient prophecies, a prophecy which was to take place during the time of the European invasion in 1519. Now, we raise the microphone, as a symbol of unity and of empowerment. This event brought together Natives from across the stolen continent, from throughout the Americas: Chile, Peru, El Salvador, Mexico, stolen states of America, even Natives from "the Rez" in northern turtle island (North America), and Nativos in central and south America (anahuak-abya yala) got to hear each other's struggles through music. With the mission of bridging the gap of isolation brought forth by colonial borders, borders we must erase. This festival will continue in honor of our ancestors and elders, "mitakuye oyasin" we are all related, we are one!
