The Mexican actor Tin Tan was born Germán Genaro Cipriano Valdés Castillo on September 19, 2015 in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was a famous and successful Mexican actor,comedian, and singer that starred in over 100 films. He often dressed in traditional zoot-suit pachuco style and employed pachuco slang known as "Calo" in many of his movies. Calo is a mixture of Mexicanized-English and Americanized-Spanish and is a street product of the pachuco barrio culture. He made the Mexican-American Calo slang famous in Mexico.

Tin Tan became ill with stomach cancer and passed away on June 29, 1973 (aged 57) in Mexico City, Mexico. He left a body of work that consisted of over a hundred movies, eleven records, two short movies and three dubbings for the Walt Disney Company (Jungle Book, The Aristocats, and The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad).
